4 Great Goals For 2023

“The only thing worse than being blind, is having sight and no vision.”

Helen Keller

Vision sees the possibilities of what could be and goals helps that become reality.

As leaders, we know the importance of goals. They drive us, keep us focused and direct our faith and hope. To do anything in life requires goals because, without them, we’ll wander and lose course.

What’s your vision for this year? And what are your goals to get there?

Our vision must be bigger than our ability because that is where we need God and that is where we discover our potential. We need challenges to bring out what we have within us.

Therefore, to achieve the vision we have for this year, we will need more of God and his help in our daily lives. To have this be a reality, we must have God’s goals so we stay focused on him and keep him as number one.

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬

Notice, when we keep God first, he adds everything else we need. This is the secret of our lives and the challenge of our lives. This is why we must be intentional with God’s goals, so we navigate through distractions and keep him first.

So here are 4 big God goals for this year.

1st – Pray And Read The Bible Daily

I personally have a One Year Bible and highly recommend it. I’ve used this for over sixteen years and counting. It helps you read the Bible through a year by breaking it up into daily increments of ten to fifteen minutes of reading. It’s doable and focused. I encourage you to get this Bible or have a plan you choose to help you read the Bible daily.

When you have a plan for reading the Bible, you will read the Bible.

Prayer is the same way. Have a rhythm to what works for your schedule. Plan it by putting it in your planner. Combine reading the Bible and praying together if you can. Make it a combo daily and by the end of the year, you will see a closer connection to God.

2nd – Journal Daily

This is a great way to chronicle what happens throughout the year. Then, at the end of the year, you can look over your journal and look back at what God has done, what he got you through, and the things that were achieved. This can be a great practice for navigating the variety of emotions we face throughout the year and being healthy in doing it.

There’s something about remembering that stirs thanksgiving and hope for what’s next.

3rd – Give To Your Church

When we give to our local church, we are giving to what God is doing and what is important to him. When we are a part of what God is doing, he gets involved with what we’re doing. This also helps open our hearts to more of him and deepens our roots of commitment and worship. This is biblical and it produces healthy attitudes within us.

When we are a part of something bigger than ourselves, we can grow past ourselves.

4th – Pray For Your Enemies And Forgive

This is BIG. Jesus said to do it and when we do, we are freed from the situation and the lingering impact it can have on us. Grudges, revenge, payback, harboring resentment, and bitterness are all the plots of the enemy against us.

In fact, these don’t help us, they hurt us. They put us in prison for the moment we were hurt by the person that hurt us.

But, when we forgive and pray for those against us, we are freed from the situation and the person, if needed. We are set free! This is not about the other person changing this is about us changing.

These are 4 God goals that will help us make Him first in our lives and get closer to Jesus.

Let’s not live to be full, let’s live to be FULFILLED! That happens when God is first.

Have a great day and the best is to come,
PD
