A Blessed Home

We all want a blessed home! One that has peace, love, connection, provision, fun, laughter, and more.

We want this because God wants this too. He gave us this desire inherently and when do life His way, we can have it.

Now, it’s not automatic and it takes a lot of work. But through Jesus, we can see what He’s promised us for our families. We have specific promises that show us what a blessed home looks like and He shows us what to do to have it.

There’s no better picture of this than in Psalms 128:1-6. This is what God can do in a home when people do life His way.

Here’s what God says a blessed home can have.

“1. How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways! 2. You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! 3. Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. 4. That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear him. May the Lord continually bless you from Zion. 5. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live. 6. May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. May Israel have peace!”

Psalms‬ ‭128‬:‭1‬-‭6‬

This passage touches every aspect of our lives, which gives us a complete picture of what a blessed home can have.

But it all starts with us fearing the Lord.

This means having a reverence for God and worshiping Him. This is a posture of us making God the center so that we revolve around Him. He’s the focus and we reflect our connection to through our lifestyle.

A blessed start by having this posture toward God.

When we commit to living this way, here’s what we’re promised.

1st – In our work life we will enjoy the fruit of our labor, have joy and be prosperous.

This gives us a full picture in this area of our lives. God will give us fulfillment blessings through our work, and cause us to thrive in it.

Yes, we can have this in our careers.

2nd – Our wives will be a fruitful grapevine. This speaks to vitality, health, strength, connection, love, friendship, and more.

God wants us to have thriving marriages where men and women grow in their faith and their love for each other.

Yes, this is possible and God intends our marriages to thrive.

3rd – Our children will be vigorous olive trees around our table. This speaks of vitality, health, strength, life, purpose, productivity, strength, development, and growth.

We all want this and when Jesus is the center, we have our kids walk through life this way.

God has plans for our kids. He gave us our kids on purpose! There’s a plan to prosper them in every area of their lives.

4th – We live to enjoy our grandchildren. This speaks of longevity, and being connected with your family. Seeing your family tree blessed and coming into the kingdom of God.

Enjoying a generational blessing that multiples over time. This is the heart of God and the plan of God for our families!

Sadly, too many homes don’t experience this and instead of feeling blessed, they feel shattered.

He’s not giving us a perfect family or a perfect home, but He will give us a blessed home!

The secret is to make Jesus the center of your life. To have reverence and worship for who He is. It’s making your life revolve around Him, and doing life His way.

Choose to have a blessed home by choosing to make Jesus the center of your life and your home.

The results will be amazing and God will help you along the way!!

God is with you and may your home be blessed in every way!!
