Big bright stage

Is BIG church bad?

There are a lot of opinions and even conferences held around this question. Of course, everyone has their preference which shapes their answer to this question.

While this question is widespread, it’s the wrong question being asked. The right question is, how many people need Jesus right now?

It has to expand because people are lost and looking for meaning. The seduction of the enemy is deceiving people into emptiness and eternity without God.

But there’s a remedy to this problem, Jesus!

Is BIG church bad? No! How many people need Jesus right now? A lot!

With this reality in mind, we must remember that Jesus called us “the light of the world and a city on a hill.” He’s given us the great commission as our purpose, and we must reach others to complete it.

“19. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19‬-‭20‬

Individually we do this one person at a time. We look at who God is bringing around us and reach for them. We focus on leading the lost to Jesus and disciplining the believer.

A BIG church is not bad and a small one is not automatically good.

The goal should be that every church is growing and making an impact. We’re wasting time debating church size while missing the people in front of us and ignoring the heart of God.

Jesus loved the mass crowds, had smaller meetings, met in smaller groups, and then had one-on-one with people. Notice it wasn’t either or, but rather it was all in all!

He did it all to do His mission. We must have this same mindset because we have one generation to reach this generation!

When Moses was pastoring at least one million people, God didn’t break them up, He instead gave Him a plan to lead it well.

“13. Choose some well-respected men from each tribe who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders.’ 14. “Then you responded, ‘Your plan is a good one.” 15. So I took the wise and respected men you had selected from your tribes and appointed them to serve as judges and officials over you. Some were responsible for a thousand people, some for a hundred, some for fifty, and some for ten.”

Deuteronomy 1:13-15

Notice how God gave a plan that would healthily pastor over one million people for them and Moses.

I believe God has plans to help us have BIG churches that are healthy for the people and for the Pastors.

Because people need Jesus! When He saves a person, it multiplies into many others’ lives. This is the heart of Jesus and we must link up with Him to fulfill the great commission.

Instead of debating whether BIG church is bad, we should be partnering with Jesus reaching people, and receiving His plans to grow His church.

Everyone is someone to Jesus! Therefore He wants to use someone to reach the next one.

There’s someone He wants you to pray for, love on, connect with, serve freely, and show them Jesus. He’s bringing people into our lives on purpose, and we’re aligned with His purpose, it all makes sense.

I believe that Jesus makes us living evidence that He’s real. Our part is to shine our light and serve others showing them who God is.

The time is NOW to get on board with the heartbeat of heaven and help His church grow.

Choose to be an addition to the church and a multiplier of good and influence. Jesus is reaching for people, are we reaching with Him?

Jesus did NOT create the church to prove their right versus other churches, but rather they help lost people get right with God!

I ask you to be a part of what God is doing. He wants to use you to reach people and to see His church be BIG!

When we lay down our preferences, we can receive His presence!

God will use you and the best is yet to come!
