21 Days to Something Great
Right now, we are doing our annual twenty one days of prayer and fasting, taking place from January 15th through February 4th. This is a sacred time set aside to intentionally pause from our usual routines and comforts, seeking something fresh and transformative from God.
This is not a method to manipulate outcomes or get what we want; rather, it’s a pathway to receive more of God into our lives and to see Him move in great ways. There’s something extraordinary about prayer and fasting that touches the heart of God.
We see evidence of this throughout Scripture, and just as He moved then, He will move now:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8
God moved for Esther, David, Elijah, Hannah, Daniel, Jesus, and the disciples. He met them in their prayers and fasting, showing His power in mighty ways. If He did it for them, He can do it for you. God does not play favorites. He loves each of us equally and is waiting for us to pursue Him with hunger and passion.
“God blesses those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.”
Matthew 5:16
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
James 5:16
These are the promises of God: when we pray and fast, He will move.
What Happens When We Fast?
When we fast something naturally, we’re feeding something spiritually! This is how we make room to receive more of God. It’s less of us and more of Him. It’s about inviting the Holy Spirit to take center stage in our lives.
I encourage you to join us in this sacred time. Lay something down for twenty one days and pray with specific requests and focused intentions. Write these requests down so you can track how God answers them. When He moves, you can cross them off as a testimony of His faithfulness.
This is what I do daily and it’s a great way to be thankful and to remind myself what He has done!
Here’s what the Bible said about our prayers.
“And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.”
1 John 5:14-15
Daily Steps for 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting
Step 1: Set Your Intentions
Decide what you will fast from and identify specific prayer requests or areas where you’re seeking God’s guidance.
Step 2: Stay Consistent
Commit to daily prayer themes and focuses. Trust that God sees you, even when you don’t feel particularly “spiritual.” Faith, not feelings, leads the way.
Step 3: Track Your Progress
Keep a written record of your prayers and the ways God answers them. This is a powerful reminder of His faithfulness and a tool for gratitude.
Step 4: Lean Into Faith
Believe that God can do what you cannot. Release your worries into His hands and trust in His timing and power.
“When we fast something naturally, we’re feeding something spiritually!”
A Final Encouragement
It’s not too late to start. Why not give God the opportunity to do something extraordinary in your life? There are new miracles and blessings waiting for you.
Are you ready to see what 21 days of prayer and fasting can unlock in your life?
We’re all on this journey together, and we believe Jesus has incredible things in store for you. Remember, Jesus is with you, and the best is yet to come!
