What We Believe
There is something powerful about knowing what you believe and even more powerful about living it out. Belief is not just an idea we carry; it becomes the framework for how we think, act, and move through life. It shapes our decisions, influences our relationships, and ultimately directs our purpose.
In Acts 2:42 (NLT), we see a clear picture of the early Church:
“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.”
This verse is more than a historical moment, it is a blueprint. It reveals what mattered most at the beginning of the Church and provides a pattern that still carries power today. The early believers were anchored. They were devoted. They knew what they believed, and that belief transformed how they lived.
As we celebrate water baptisms, take communion, and worship together, we are reminded that what we believe is not abstract, it is active, personal, and life-changing.
Why What We Believe Matters
What we believe shapes how we live.
It determines how we respond to challenges, how we see ourselves, and how we relate to God. When our beliefs are rooted in Christ, we become steady and unshakable, not because of our strength, but because of His.
What you truly believe will always show up in how you live; belief is the root, but transformation is the fruit.

What We Believe
Acts 2:42 tells us the believers “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching.” These teachings laid the foundation for what we now understand as the core truths of our faith.
This moment marked the birth of the Church. It revealed God’s model and established the beliefs that would guide generations.
Being grounded in truth is not optional, it is essential. When we are anchored in what we believe, we are not easily shaken. Instead, we become focused, aligned, and confident in God’s purpose for our lives.
Our Core Beliefs
God – Matthew 28:19
We believe in one living and true God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, yet deeply relational.
God is love.
He is not distant, He is reaching toward us. He is kind, patient, compassionate, and faithful. When we understand His nature, it transforms how we approach Him. He is not against us, He is for us.
Jesus – 1 Timothy 3:16
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life, died, rose again, and now intercedes for us.
Jesus is alive and active.
He is not limited by time or circumstance. No situation is too complex, no struggle too deep, and no dream too big for Him. Nothing is impossible with Jesus.
The Holy Spirit – John 14:17
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence on the earth today, living within every believer.
He is personal and powerful.
He reveals truth, guides us, and transforms us from the inside out. Through Him, we experience God not just intellectually, but relationally.
Resurrection – 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18
We believe Jesus is coming again.
This is our blessed hope.
Death does not have the final word. Fear does not win. Because of Jesus, we have the promise of eternal life and that changes how we live today.
Water Baptism – Romans 6:4–5
Water baptism is a powerful declaration of faith.
It represents a new beginning.
Through it, we identify with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. The old life is gone, and a new life begins.
Communion – 1 Corinthians 11:23–25
Communion is a sacred reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice.
It is not just symbolic, it is powerful.
Through it, we remember His body and blood, receiving healing, forgiveness, and restoration.
The Church – Matthew 16:16–19
The Church is built on Jesus.
It is not just a building, it is a living expression of Christ on the earth. We are called to live in community, support one another, and impact the world together.
Eternal Life – John 3:16
Through Jesus, we are reconciled to God.
Eternal life is not only a future promise, it is a present reality.
It gives our lives meaning, purpose, and hope.
Living What We Believe
Belief was never meant to stay on paper, it was meant to be lived.
When we truly believe:
- We live free from fear
- We walk in purpose
- We engage in community
- We reflect God’s love
Belief fuels action.
It shapes how we live, how we love, and how we lead. Most importantly, it draws us closer to Jesus.
Final Thoughts
What we believe matters more than we often realize.
It is the foundation we build our lives on. Jesus is our anchor, bringing stability in uncertain times and strength when life feels overwhelming.
The early Church devoted themselves to these truths and it changed the world.
The same is still true today.
When we build our lives on Christ, we do not just exist, we thrive. We do not just survive, we live with purpose, passion, and power.
Believe deeply. Live boldly. And let your life reflect the truth that has changed everything.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
