Team Builders
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
This statement is true—if anything great is going to happen, it will happen through a team.
Everything God does in our lives is connected to others; it is never isolated to just ourselves. The flow of God in us follows this equation: God + you + the right people = victory. This highlights the importance of being team builders!
Team builders help others find their place and use their gifts, giving them opportunities to grow. They create spaces for others to succeed, knowing that when individuals thrive, the team thrives.
Jesus created the Church to be full of leaders who are team builders. It is the body of Christ, the family of God, and the Church of Jesus!
Everyone has a place, and everyone has something to give. This is why we must be team builders!
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:12-13
The body is a perfect example of how the Church functions—everyone has a part to play, and we are all connected. Because of this, we cannot afford to be lone rangers or attempt to do everything ourselves. We must be team builders who help others find their place and thrive.
Here are three ways to be a team builder:
1. Let Others Shine
Team builders are secure in allowing others to flourish. They do not feel threatened or insecure about their role.
Leaders who protect their turf end up losing influence, while those who share it multiply and expand their impact.
Team builders confidently help others discover their place and gifts, adding value to the team. This is crucial because a team thrives when every member has the opportunity to shine.
The Church is compared to a body, and just as our body needs all its parts to function, so does the team! Team builders empower others to shine, and this reflects the heart of God.
It’s time for leaders to let others shine!
2. Delegate Responsibility
Delegation is a key aspect of being a team builder. It’s not just about giving tasks to check off—it’s about entrusting leadership responsibilities.
This expands the leadership team and provides people with opportunities to develop. Growth happens through action, not just knowledge.
We learn by doing, making mistakes, and improving along the way. Leaders must delegate with trust—true delegation means releasing responsibility, not just overseeing tasks.
When leaders withhold trust, neither they nor their teams grow. But when leaders delegate responsibility, people develop, and the team flourishes.
Trust should be given, and distrust is earned. Team builders build people by delegating responsibility.
3. Think Beyond Yourself
Team builders focus on the future. They look ahead and establish a generational plan to ensure lasting growth.
Too many leaders only think about today, which leaves them unprepared for transition. To build strong teams, churches, families, and businesses, we must think beyond ourselves.
Team builders empower others to lead. Without this mindset, organizations fade away after a generation or two. Unfortunately, this happens too often in churches—but it is not God’s plan.
Jesus is alive, and His Church is meant to thrive. But this doesn’t happen automatically—it requires team builders!
Be a Team Builder!
Build up others—your family, church, community, business, and beyond. Choose to be like Jesus: let others shine, delegate responsibility, and think beyond yourself.
The Kingdom of God is bigger than one person, but one person can make an eternal impact by choosing to be a team builder.
The Kingdom of God is bigger than one person, but one person can make an eternal impact by choosing to be a team builder.
Be that person!
Have a great day— the best is yet to come!
