A Full House
A Full House is fun!
The kinetic feel of love is alive with talking, laughing, eating, connecting, and family traditions all with the volume turned up. These are great moments that build bonds and build bridges relationally.
But having A Full House means different things to different people. For some, it’s full of relatives, full of money, full of food, full of love, or full of success.
These are some of the definitions that are attached to A Full House. But these examples are limited in their reach because they’re temporary. They’re not bad in themselves, but they are not complete.
What makes A Full House complete is the legacy of faith!
Having faith in Jesus is an eternal legacy that gives purpose and fulfillment. This is where we have salvation, healing, love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, truth, peace and joy. This is where we thrive and flourish in all areas of our lives.
When Jesus is the center of our lives, everything has purpose and significance. When Jesus is not the center of our lives, everything becomes shallow and incomplete.
So, what defines A Full House?
A Full House places Jesus at the center and builds their lives on him. When this happens, the good hand of the Lord rests upon it.
This is what happens to a man named Obed Edom.
“The Ark of the Lord remained there in Obed-edom’s house for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and his entire household.”
2 Samuel 6:11
Notice that the house of Obed Edom was blessed because of the presence of God! When God shows up, things change. When God shows up, families have the blessing of God upon them.
No family is perfect, but a family can be blessed and full of Jesus!
The question is, what is A Full House full of?
Here’s a list of twenty-five things.
- Love.
- Faith.
- Grace.
- Peace.
- Joy.
- Unity.
- Honesty.
- Purpose.
- Success.
- Favor.

- Life change.
- Health.
- Legacy.
- Fun.
- Laughter.
- Connection.
- Acceptance.

- Direction.
This is what we can have when Jesus is at the center of our lives and families.
Now, maybe you’re reading this and you think, my family doesn’t have some of these things. That’s ok!
I encourage you to have Jesus be the center and pursue Him. Then watch as these things begin to be added to your home. This is progressive over time. It’s not a race with others, it’s running your race with God.
I believe it’s better to have consistent growth over decades, versus a quick burst and then it fades.
God has A Full House for you that builds momentum over time and sets the pace and standard for generations.
So today, here is how we can have A Full House!
1st – Make Jesus the center.
Choose to revolve around Jesus as the center of your family, versus having Jesus revolve around you. It does not work that way.
2nd – Believe God’s promises in His word.
Choose to believe the word of God and build your family on it. His promises are yes and amen. God will do it and wants to do it. Someone needs to believe it and pray it over your family. It will come to pass!
3rd – Choose to be healthy.
Jesus is the healer and He makes us healthy. Choose to be healthy in attitude, thoughts, words, actions, feelings, and more.
This kind of health shows up in how we navigate conflict, how we love each other with respect, and how we serve one another.
Healthy people have a healthy life. Toxic people have a toxic life. Either one we can feel, see, and be impacted by it.
Choose health in Jesus. He is our great physician!
I pray this Christmas you have A Full House and that’s the best holiday you’ve ever had.
God loves you and your family! He will make it Full.
Have a great day and the best is yet to come,
PD
