Thankful

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope this holiday is great with family and friends as you enjoy great food, football, and naps.

Thanksgiving is a chance to connect with those we love and be thankful for what God has done.

There’s something special about these moments and we’re better when we take them in. The food, connections, laughter, board games, football, conversations, and more build bonds that impact generations. This is not hyperbole, it’s the reality of family and friends being Thankful!

I believe God sees you and He can comfort you like no one else can.

Being Thankful is more than a special meal, or what you have. It’s a posture of our heart and mind!

When we live through Jesus, Thanksgiving becomes more than we see. It’s about who we have and who He’s making us to be.

This is something only Jesus can do!

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬

Here are two ways this verse breaks down in us being Thankful!

1st – We have Jesus!

In Jesus, we can be thankful in any situation because He’s with us and leads us through it. The development of our lives and the reality of God in our lives is linked to the things we walk through.

It’s in these moments that we can give thanks because we know Jesus! He’s our God, our friend, our hope, and our Savior.

This is what Jesus does for us!!

2nd – He has a plan for us.

In Jesus, we can be thankful because of who He’s making us to be. He heals our lives, changes our hearts, makes us more than we could imagine, and can have an impact through our efforts.

No one can do this like Jesus!

He heals us, restores us, frees us, pulls our wrong roots, and plants the word of God. He gives us purpose from our pain and beauty from our ashes. He redeems the setbacks of life to be the platform of opportunity.

So who He’s making us to be is profound and worth being thankful for!

We may not be where we want, or have what we want but, we’re not where we were! There is forward movement through Jesus!

This Thanksgiving I hope we remember that Jesus is with us and that He has a plan for us. Even when we mess it up, He’s gracious and kind to bring us back to Him.

Enjoy this holiday! I pray your heart is full with all of your loved ones and what He’s making you to be.

If you’re in a great season or a painful one, Jesus is with you and there’s more for you! He’s an indescribable gift from heaven! He’s everything we need!

Happy Thanksgiving and the best is yet to come!
